CHAPTER 1

“And then, the princess faced down the werewolf king and said to him ‘your cruelty will end here and now! I, Princess Milania, will slay you here and now in the name of justice!’”

The gathered children gasped. “Then what happened, Miss Cris? Did the princess beat the mean werewolf king?” One boy piped up.

“Of course she does!” One of the girls responded, looking offended that the boy would even ask that. “Princess Milania can do anything, right Miss Cris?” She turned her head expectantly.

Cris smiled, sitting on the floor of the library in a circle with five of the servant’s children, a book open in her lap. She tucked a strand of auburn hair behind her ear. “Well, I don’t think she can do everything. It wouldn’t be very fun if you know she’d always win, after all!” She turned a page in the book, and gasped.

“What is it, what happened?” the kids questioned in a chorus.

“It was a trap! The princess fell into a pit!” Cris said dramatically, playing up the suspense. This was met with several cries of shock from the kids. She grinned, but before she could continue, there was an interruption. The interruption came in the form of a one Mrs. Pinet, a full bodied woman with an eternally rosy face, tasked with the process of raising Cris from a girl to a young woman, or so was her constant mantra.

“Miss Christine! Figures I’d find you here, are you shirking your lessons again?” The woman was not happy, her hands on her hips and a frown on her face.

Cris sighed, “Funs over for today, kids.”

“Aww, but Miss Cris, it was just getting to the good part!” another girl cried.

“Tomorrow, ok? I promise,” Cris said with a smile, and the children reluctantly ran off. She raised her gaze to the disapproving glare before her, brown eyes trying their best to seem apologetic. “I… forgot?” It was a flimsy excuse, but she figured she may as well try.

“I won’t have any of your excuses, Miss Christine. How do you expect to become a properly dignified young lady if you won’t go to your lessons?”

“I don’t want to! I don’t want to sit around having tea with boring noblemen and pretend to laugh at their dumb jokes!” Cris replied as she closed the book and hopped to her feet.

Mrs. Pinet rolled her eyes. “Not this again.”

Cris tapped the cover of her book, featuring an illustration of the warrior princess Milania, “This is what I want! To be a hero and go on adventures!”

“How many times do I have to tell you to stop with those silly daydreams of yours? You are a lady. A lady does not go gallivanting off swinging around a sword,” she crossed her arms resolutely.

“This one does!” Cris responded with a pout.

“Your story books are not the same as real life, Miss Christine,” Mrs. Pinet sighed. “Regardless, I came to fetch you because your father wanted to speak with you. I had gone to find you where you should have been, at your lesson, but clearly that was too much to expect of you.”

“Oh, daddy wanted to see me?” Cris’s expression brightened as she clutched her book to her chest.

“Yes dear. He’s in his office, as always. Can I trust you to go see him on your own?”

“Of course!” Cris smiled. Her father had become a bit of a recluse after her mother’s death, but he was kind and doted on her, and she loved him dearly.

“Good girl. When he’s done with you, do run along to your room, it’ll be time to wash up for dinner; I’ll have your dress laid out on the bed.” Mrs. Pinet replied, and turned on her foot to trot off before Cris had time to object. Her father had just returned from a business trip the night earlier, changing into a different dress for dinner meant company would come over for dinner to herald his return. She frowned a little at this, but obediently trotted off in the direction of her father’s office.

Adrien Trepagnier’s office was simultaneously the office of someone who had too much and too little time on their hands. The room was lined with shelves, and there was barely an inch of space on them that wasn’t occupied by some artifact, book, or piece of art. There were papers everywhere, piled on the desk, sandwiched between books, and even a few nestled in with a potted plant. Cris carefully pushed to door open, making sure not to knock the standing globe to the side of it over, and slipped inside. “You wanted to see me, daddy?” She asked as she sauntered over to sit in the chair on the near side of her father’s desk.

He looked up from his work, glasses slightly askew. Mr. Trepagnier was a rather frazzled looking man, always looking haggard and mildly disoriented regardless of the situation. In his mid-forties, his hair, auburn like his daughter’s, was slicked back, but strand of hair were always falling in his face. But, he smiled when he saw his daughter, “I was starting to think you’d gone missing, with the time it took you to get here. I take it that you skipped out on your lessons again?”

Cris frowned, “They’re boring, daddy. I’d much rather have fencing lessons with you. Or even learn how to do business! That way I won’t have to get married because I can run the company after you by myself.” She seemed proud of herself for coming up with this idea.

Her father scratched his head. “The content of your schooling isn’t up for debate right now, Christine.”

“Boo. What did you want to talk about, then?”

“Your birthday. It’s in two weeks, yes?” He asked as he shuffled a few papers around. “I want to know what you’d like to do for it so I can make arrangements before I leave.”

“Leave? But daddy, you just got back! And you’d only been home for a week before that trip!” Cris was less put out by her father’s frequent trips as she was concerned for the eternally tired man’s well-being. With her mother gone, it was her job to look after him, of course.

“I know, Cris. But if the deal this trip is for goes through, I shouldn’t have to travel quite so much. When I get back, we can take a trip to visit Auntie Elaine as a late birthday present, if you’d like.”

“… Late? Daddy, are you saying you won’t be back before my birthday? “ Cris’s shoulders slumped at the realization. As busy as her father was, he’d always made a point to be home for her birthday.

VARIA QUALITY

The Varia are the Vongola family's special assassination squad. They are very good at their job though they only take missions with a 90% chance of sucess which is kind of dumb but whatever. They are all people who could never even hope to function in normal society for various reasons. Literally everyone in the Varia is not right in the head. Everyone important anyway (and also Levi.)

XANXUS

Xanxus is the current leader of the Varia and he's a huge asshole. He is mentally unsound and will never get what he wants in life because no one likes him and his mother was a whore. Literally he is a terrible person with virtually no redeeming traits besides being incredibly strong and having an intrisic inexplicable charisma that only works on other crazy people. Normally that would not really be a good thing but given the Varia is entirely crazy people it serves him well as boss. Xanxus may not be the most crazy (though he is pretty high up there) but he is the most violent and that is why he gets to be the boss even though Squalo does most of the actual work. He is a violent man-child and has essentially the same terrible attitude well into his 30's.
WHY XANXUS SHOULD BE DEAD BY NOW
Xanxus is always at least one of two things, and those things are angry and drunk. Sometimes he is both. In fact he is almost always at least sort of angry, though even if he wasn't you wouldn't know, his face is pretty much always angry looking. Even when he was a small child he looked angry. Not only is he always angry but he is capable of levels of rage you couldn't achieve even in your wildest dreams. He's not just angry, he's XANGRY!!! He even has a built in rage meter, in the form of the scars all over his body. When he is ESPECIALLY enraged, they actually get worse and cover even more of his skin than they normally do. It would be a miracle that he hasn't died of an anger-induced aneurysm by now if it weren't for the fact that he is an anime character and the laws of nature generally do not apply to them as much if at all. In fact if they did apply he would have died of at least three things by now because he also drinks heavily and his diet consists mostly of steak. So that's alcohol poisoning/liver cancer and high cholesterol right there. This is probably why we don't have people like Xanxus in the real world because they all die before they can accomplish anything. BUT ANYWAY, back to Xanxus's anger issues. He has a lot of issues actually, but they end up being anger issues because that he how he expresses all of his problems. And he deals with them by drinking.
XANXUS IS JUST GENERALLY A BAD PERSON
A subset of his anger is of course, his hatred for nearly everything and everyone. There are a handful of things he doesn't hate and of those he expects the highest quality. VARIA QUALITY! This includes steak and booze, he has shown to be particularly picky about steak, even at the most inappropriate moments. He also does not seem to hate his pet pokemon box weapon (basically mafia pokemon), Bester, considering he named him BESTER! BESTER IS GERMAN FOR "THE BEST"! XANXUS IS NOT VERY CREATIVE! Probably because Bester is a rare and powerful box, a white lion/liger. But Xanxus hates pretty much everyone in varying amounts, the people he hates the most being Timoteo, Tsuna, and probably Levi. He hates Timoteo because he has a lot of daddy issues and Timoteo basically RUINED HIS LIFE!! Tsuna he hates because he totally stole the title of tenth boss from Xanxus and then beat him up when Xanxus tried to get it back despite being a goody two-shoes wuss. Levi he hates because he's Levi and no one likes Levi. The only reason Xanxus is in charge is because he is the strongest. He somehow commands the other Varia officer's loyalty despite being lazy, rude, and abusive. He does not care what anyone else thinks, as everyone else is "trash", though he leaves most of the actual work to Squalo. Basically if you know how lion packs work, with the females doing all the work while the males sleep all day, and yet the males still lead the pack, Xanxus is pretty much like those male lions. He is also like a spoiled child/teenager in that he will have a tantrum and throw shit until he gets what he wants (or is beaten up by a Japanese teenager) and his life is SO UNFAIR and NOBODY UNDERSTANDS! (Plus he hates his dad because of aformentioned life ruining.) Xanxus is like a lot of things but none of them are particularly positive.
XANXUS WAS A PROBLEM CHILD
As far as is canonnically known, Xanxus was born in the slums in Italy and his mom is CRAZY. His dad is mysterious and we don't know who he is but he probably was lame anyway because he had sex wih Xanxus's mom and as I just said she was CRAZY. Anyway, so she has this kid and SOMEHOW he has this super strong magic flame that is the exact same as the magic flame the second Vongola boss had. (How she knows this I have no idea.) She decides that CLEARLY this must mean that he's the son of the ninth boss, and she names him Xanxus because therefore he will be the tenth boss. She offers him up to Timoteo, the ninth boss, who adopts him even though Xanxus is LOL not his son. But he doesn't tell Xanxus that. He just did it cause he felt bad and thought maybe he could be useful because his flame is very strong. This turned out, like most of Timoteo's ideas, to be a bad idea. (Timoteo is probably the worst Vongola boss, behind even the fourth boss whose weapon of choice was a FORK. In fact pretty much everything in KHR is basically Timoteo's fault.) Xanxus basically became a spoiled brat who hated everyone. He made Timoteo sad because he never smiled ever and Timoteo BAAAWED about it to Iemitsu in the anime even though it was probably his fault for being terrible at everything.
ANYWAY, Xanxus got pretty cocky because he thought he was going to be the tenth boss. Even though Timoteo had three older sons. The were probably as lame as their father though, and Xanxus probably realized this. he had no respect for anyone ever and would throw tantrums and just be generally awful. Then at some point he met Squalo, who decided immediately to follow Xanxus forever because he deeply admired his unfathomable rage at the world. In other words this is the first example of Xanxus's crazy person charisma. Squalo is basically Xanxus's greatest and most faithful ally and Xanxus still laughs when he (supposedly) dies because that is how awful Xanxus is. Xanxus is also the reason Squalo's hair is so fucking long, because Squalo pledged to Xanxus that he wouldn't cut it until he helped Xanxus become Vongola Decimo.
EVERYTHING XANXUS KNEW WAS A LIE
Then Timoteo's actual sons CONVENIENTLY ALL DIED. One of them might not have been Xanxus's doing but the other two probably were. As clearly he was already adept at murdering people since thats what the Varia does. So he's the only one left to be the tenth boss. (He's wrong but thats not the point.) In fact, most of the Vongola inner circle wants him to be the boss, at this point. So things are looking pretty good for him. BUT THEN SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENS! Xanxus manages to find some of Timoteo's documents recounting how he took Xanxus in even though he was not actually his son. Which means he doesn't actually have any Vongola blood and thus CANNOT be the tenth boss. So his mother gave him a stupid name for NOTHING, his "father" LIED TO HIM for years, and all his dreams of RULING THE MAFIA WORLD WITH AN IRON FIST are RUINED. He goes completely balistic and BURNS EVERYTHING but of course that doesn't change the fact that he knows the truth and is furious at Timoteo who he didn't even like in the first place for letting him think he was going to be boss. However almost no one knows that Xanxus isn't Timoteo's real son, so Xanxus realizes that if he murdered Timoteo and forcibly wrested control from him then he could still totally be the tenth boss. So, at the age of 16, Xanxus and his Varia sidekicks stage an attack to overthrow Timoteo and all his guys. It goes FAIRLY WELL considering they are all under the age of 18, and Xanxus and Squalo manage to reach Timoteo so Xanxus can FIGHT HIM and MURDER HIM. Timoteo is fairly apologetic, admitting that he probably should have told Xanxus sooner. YEAH, PROBABLY. But in the end Timoteo wins the fight even though he is old and kind of lame, and uses the super secret technique only the first Vongola boss could use, which is basically the anti-version of the magical mafia flame, called the Zero-point breakthrough, and with this he FREEZES XANXUS in magical mafia ice. Which doesnt kill him because it's magical. This later becomes known as "The Cradle Affair" for some reason, and the Vongola higher ups somehow mostly sweep the whole incident under the rug, and all is well. FOR NOW.
XANXUS WANTS SOME MAGICAL MAFIA RINGS
This is where the Vongola rings come in. BASICALLY, magical mafia flames come in 7 flavors based on different kinds of weather. Including Rain. You know, the thing that puts regular fires out. BUT THAT IS WHY THESE ARE NOT REGULAR FLAMES! ANYWAY, along with this, each Vongola boss has six guardians, one for each flame attribute, and the boss him/herself has a flame of the SKY attribute. The Vongola rings are rings worn by the current boss and their six guardians, and amplify the power of their flames. And you HAVE to have the rings or you CANT be the boss. So Xanxus needs them. HOWEVER, to make it difficult the rings are in two parts and you have to have both sets of half rings for them to work. the current boss (Timoteo) has half and his external advisor (Iemitsu) has the other halves. That way, they have to agree on the next boss candidate. Since Xanxus was frozen, Iemitsu's son Tsuna was to be the tenth boss. (Because the first boss retired to Japan, and Tsuna's family is descended from him.) So, about 8 years after Xanxus was frozen, Iemitsu sends Tsuna his set of rings. MEANWHILE, someone unfreezes Xanxus. Can you guess who it was? YUP, IT WAS TIMOTEO. Because he felt bad and wanted to give Xanxus another chance. This was another one of Timoteo's innumerable bad ideas. Xanxus is still focused on becoming the tenth boss, but apparently those 8 years, along with giving him ample time to stew in his rage, had made him smarter and he hatched a plan. Xanxus forcibly took Timoteo's set of rings. He sent Squalo off to retrieve the other set, which he does, but apparently it was a DECOY SET, proving Iemitsu is at least not as stupid as Timoteo is. Xanxus percieves them as fake, and decides this means he must take care of this matter first hand.
XANXUS HEADS TO JAPAN
Xanxus forges a letter from Timoteo saying he wanted Xanxus to suceed him, and the Varia set off for Japan. Iemitsu manages to show up at the last minute to keep Tsuna and company from being murdered. Xanxus presents the letter, which declares that the tenth boss will be decided in a battle for the rings. The respective guardians for each attribute will duel and whoever wins gets the ring. Whoever has the most rings in the end wins. So we have a bunch of JAPANESE TEENAGERS vs SEASONED MAFIA ASSASSINS. However since the Japanese teenagers are the main characters most of them win. Finally, in the last guardian fight, the Varia fighter is a giant robot called Gola Mosca. it is defeated, but then it goes berzerk, and Tsuna jumps in and destroys it. EXCEPT INSIDE THE ROBOT IS TIMOTEO! Because apparenly this kind of robot is powered by a living host, and Xanxus, in his infinite dickery, used Timoteo. BUT NO, THATS NOT ALL, by destroying the robot, Tsuna has KILLED Timoteo, making it so that Xanxus can kill him as "vengeance" for killing his father. And thus redeeming himself in the eyes of those who know about the Cradle Affair. It is a plan as genius as it is monstruous. However Timoteo ruins everything again by not being completely dead, and tells everyone that the letter is fake and he still wants Tsuna to suceed him. In light of the whole thing being a complete lie, the judges decide that the fight between Tsuna and Xanxus will be for all the marbles. The fight is LONG and DRAMATIC but Tsuna triumphs in the end because he's the main character. HOWEVER, the Varia members still capable of movement have seized the other rings and takes Tsun'a half of the Sky ring because he is too tired to move. SO NOW XANXUS HAS ALL THE RINGS! HE FEELS AWESOME! EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL!

Except the rings are like "LOL NOPE" and violently reject him because he's not actually of Vongola blood and he gacks up a bunch of blood and everything is terrible again. Squalo tells everyone THE TRUTH and Tsuna gets the rings.
XANXUS IS FUCKING OP
Despite the fact that he was defeated by a wussy Japanese teenager, Xanxus is overall PRETTY STRONG. He's basically fueled by his rage and as has been explained he has that in obscene amounts. It starts with that powerful flame of his. It's so powerful it even has it's own name. It is called the FLAME OF WRATH, because it was the flame the second Vongola boss used only when he was HORRIFICALLY ENRAGED. But this is Xanxus's flame ALL THE TIME because he is that angry ALL THE TIME! It can disintegrate reinforced concrete and magical rain elephants alike. But this wasn't enough for Xanxus. NO. He had to make it even more overpowered by borrowing a technique from ANOTHER past Vongola boss, the seventh. The seventh boss had a weak flame, and compensated for it by making a gun whose bullets would store flame energy, and thus amplify the power by several times. And Xanxus has two guns like this. He can also use these guns to fucking FLY, by aiming them downwards. Also later he gets his pokemon which can also fuck your shit up by ROARING SO MIGHTILY IT TURNS SHIT TO STONE.

THIS TOOK ME A WEEK LONGER TO GET UP THAN I WAS HOPING, BUT W/E. So yeah. As promised, Yeager makes an extended appearance in this chapter, and the Wonder Baker has a super cool ~CAMEO APPEARANCE~.

ANYWAY,

I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A WHILE. So here's a oneshot fanfic. I needed to get the Yeager out of my system, so I was like, "hey, I'll do a short little piece focused on him". AND THEN IT WAS 2.5 PAGES LONG. This is my first stab at doing a non-AU piece. I think it worked out pretty nicely.

SPOILER ALERT: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD. )

SO, I had to write a description of a person for english. Being the obsessed fangirl I am, I chose Raven. It was supposed to be 1 page... I ended up with 2 and a half. ERRR >_>

But so yeah, a short little scene between Karol and Raven. I may post this on the ToV community, I'm not really sure.

BECAUSE CLEARLY TWO HUGE SUPER NERDY POEMS IS NOT ENOUGH. This poem is more srs bizness. It was mainly inspired by the events that transpire in Baction and this REALLY DEPRESSING/BEAUTIFUL fancomic.

Also it's really short. AGAIN, NAME SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL.

Truefacts. So I typed up this exerpt that I had written down because I can.

I was going to do a cut but it doesn't like me so this is just going to be a long post. WHATEVER.

"I don't know... how can you be sure we can trust him, Mr. Iken?" Hiken asked as he raised his eyebrow at Kano.

            "My brother's word."

"..What's that supposed to mean?" Zithenos asked, his ears twitched at the annoying vagueness of Kano's statement.

"You have a brother?" Hiken was surprised.

"I did" Kano said, elaborating upon receiving a blank look from Hiken "he's dead."

"Oh... sorry" Hiken looked at his feet, slightly abashed before being cut off.

"So what do you mean by what you said?" Zithenos said, seemingly undeterred by the awkwardness Hiken had towards the subject.

"My brother Eiri trusted Mr. Khyre like a brother" Kano stated, "he would've trusted him with his life."

"Don't say that..." Rex flinched as if he had been struck.

Kano didn't seem to notice the odd behavior and continued "he never let my brother down, and he's never let me down either."

"You don't know that!" all of a sudden Rex was standing, holding a dagger to Kano's neck. His eyes were unfocused and his arm quivered, making it seem as if he were not entirely aware of where he was or what he was doing. His consciousness suddenly returned to him, his eyes widened and he dropped his arm, the dagger falling to the floor with a clatter as his grip became limp. He looked at Kano, seeming horrified, then blinked and seemed to recognize Kano again. He looked almost as if he had just seen a ghost, worse than that, an indescribable look that was full of guilt and misery and fear. He put his head in his hands and sunk to the ground. He mumbled to himself in a strained, pained voice "it almost happened again..."

            "...Wei?" Kano tentatively asked.

"Craaazy~" Zith said softly in a singsong voice.

Rex didn't respond to either of the two men, remaining motionless. For a long time, no one said anything.

            Not even Hiken. (gasp)

Finally, it was Rex who broke the silence. He spoke softly is a slightly raspy voice "Kano... do you know how Eiri died?"

"No... I don't think anyone does. No one was there when it happened" he spoke in an uneasy voice, not sure if he liked where this was going.

"I was" Rex lifted his head slightly, revealing his face, a mixture of pain and pity displayed on it behind his usual veil of mild indifference.

Zithenos's eyes widened in realization "so it was.."

Rex looked down at his hands "...yes" he said quietly, nodding slowly. He looked up at unblinking Kano "I killed Eiri, your brother, and my friend."

Kano stared at Rex, apparently unable to comprehend what he had just heard.

"Hold on a second!" Hiken broke the uncomfortable silence, "that doesn't make sense! Why would you kill your best friend?" Hiken put his hands on his hips as if he had found a fatal flaw in Rex's statement and was sure it couldn't be explained away.

"because he's a freaking psycho?" Zithenos suggested, and then looked put out when his statement failed to get a rise out of the older man.

"Sometimes I think you may be right about that" Rex agreed, making Zithenos even more annoyed. Hiken continued to look confused as he usually did, and Kano still had yet to react. "I'll explain... just... give me a minute."

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The door slid open and Eiri's face lit up at the sight of his old friend "Wei! How've you been?" he trotted over and thumped him on the back, "still the same?"

"I heard you and Emi are having another baby" Rex said quietly.

"Oh, yeah!" Eiri beamed, "Emi's still hoping for a girl, who knows, they do say the third time's a charm, so hopefully she'll get her wish." Eiri paused for a moment, "So who told you, Zith?" he asked.

"Yes" the other man responded in the quiet monotone voice that had become his usual tone

"I swear, he spends more time here than he does at your place!" Eiri laughed.

"Probably, he really doesn't like me," Rex said as he looked out at the sky, then down again at the wooden planks of the porch. "You know Eiri, you really are lucky."

"Hmm? Yeah, I guess you're right."

Rex looked at his hands, despondently adding "I must be cursed..."

"Aww, Wei, don't say that! You just gotta persevere. Once you find Lin everything will be alright!" Eiri said in a reassuring manner as he put his hand on his friend's shoulder.

"Lin is dead. Everyone else is dead." Rex's voice started to become harsh and metallic.

"You don't know that Wei. You've got to be more optimistic! You survived, she could have too!"

            "Shut up, Eiri."

            "Wei, what-"

"You don't know what it's like, you have a big perfect family, you always have, you haven't been through anything anywhere near what I have. So stop telling me it's going to be okay. Even if I did find Lin, my life isn't going to go back to the way it was and it most certainly isn't going to be like yours. So just shut up" he pushed Eiri's hand off his shoulder in an almost disgusted manner.

"What's with you all of a sudden? I'm just trying to be your friend!" Eiri stared at his friend as if he were crazy.

"Just... stop it..." Rex put his hand to his face "...I can't stand to hear you talk..."

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

"And the next thing I can clearly remember, Eiri was dead in front of me and my hands were drenched in..." Rex held his face in his hands, unable to continue. Kano continued to stare at him, blank faced.

"So... you were jealous?" Hiken asked cautiously.

"And mentally unbalanced" Zithenos added. Rex nodded silently but said nothing, much to the annoyance of the younger demon.

"W-what are you saying..?" Rex looked up as Kano finally responded. "You...you couldn't have killed Eiri... why would you say something like that?"

"Because I did... I didn't want to believe it at first, but I did. I know there's nothing I can say to make this any easier on you... but it still pains me to think about it now, even though it's been over 50 years"

"But... no... it can't have happened like that..." Kano was slowly becoming more and more panicked. "How could you have... he would have fought back..."

"He was unarmed, he would have never suspected me of attacking him... I don't know if he would have draw his blade against me anyway... I don't know if his moral code would have allowed it."

Kano face had assume a mixture of horror and despair "he had his entire family... his whole life ahead of him... he was going to be the next clan head...how could you..."

Rex said nothing, silently looking down at his hands.

"How could you have done that!?" Kano said, anger suddenly filled his voice as he grabbed Rex by the collar of his shirt, pulling him to his feet. "I swore if I ever found the person who killed my brother, I swore that I would make them suffer. So that they would know just a small fraction of the pain they cause me and my family!"

"Go ahead then. You have every right to do so" Rex said, seemingly resigned to his fate. "Your brother was the last link I had to before my life fell apart. I was dead the second I realized what I had done."

Kano's face had contorted into a strange grimace. He stood still for a long time, then finally uttered in a pained voice "I never thought that person would be you. Eiri would never have wanted me to... And even without Eiri... You've always watched out for me."

"Yes, because I killed the person who would have watched over you. It was completely selfish, you had nothing to do with it. It was just a way for me to ease my guilt."

"Just shut up..." he paused again, before throwing Rex back to the ground and storming off.

I WILL MAYBE WRITE MORE OF THIS LATER.
